TRAINEESHIPS IN HEALTH & FITNESS

WHAT IS A TRAINEESHIP?

A traineeship is an education and training programme with work experience that is aimed at young people and prepares them for their future careers by helping them to become ‘work ready’.

If you are aged 16 to 24 and don’t yet have the appropriate skills or experience, traineeships provide the essential work preparation training, English, maths and work experience needed to secure an apprenticeship or employment. It is a recognised NVQ Level 2 which is equivalent to GCSE grades A* – C. Find out more about grades and their equivalent educational awards via City & Guilds.

Skills Focus have grant funded Level 2 traineeships available with contacts in a range of health and fitness organisations to get your career in fitness kick started.

APPRENTICESHIPS IN HEALTH & FITNESS

WHAT IS AN APPRENTICESHIP?

Skills Focus Training can progress Traineeship graduates into an Apprenticeship within the fitness industry. Apprenticeships allow you to work, earn and gain a qualification in the area you are working in. How you study can vary from apprenticeship to apprenticeship, some require you to attend college one day a week, others require you to do all of your studying at work, whilst some are a blend of the two, in this case you may attend “lectures” away from work but only once or twice a month.

Apprenticeships are available for level two to degree level; typically it takes one to two years to complete however some may take longer due to the nature of the programme.
